Mullard 6GK5 in D/A-2b
I bought a used conrad-johnson D/A-2b. I had told admin that I would review the Mullard 6GK5 tubes I had planned on installing. Upon receipt of the unit, I decided to add it to the system as is: I was not disappointed. Listening to various well recorded CD's, I was uttering "wow". Unfortun...

Re: Conrad Johnson D/A-2b Digital Processor Review
I'm going to buy a second component fan just to be safe. It keeps the PV12A at about 88°
Thanks for the reply.

Re: Conrad Johnson D/A-2b Digital Processor Review
One last question: How warm does the D/A-2b get as compared to the PV12A? My reason for asking is that it will be going into a tight cabinet slot adjacent to an identical slot for the PV12A. I use a component fan for the PV12A and it works quite well in cooling the unit, but I see that the D/A-2b do...

Re: Conrad Johnson D/A-2b Digital Processor Review
I get the turntable logic, just wondered about the digital sources. Thanks!
I've read that the Mullard 6GK5's are sweet, so if I get the unit I've bid on, I'll likely spend the bucks to get those. BTW, it was your review that has prompted me to seek a D/A-2B!

Re: Conrad Johnson D/A-2b Digital Processor Review
Question: Since the PV12A is phase inverted, have you utilized the phase shift on the D/A-2B to eliminate hooking up the speakers L=R to compensate for the phase? Also, what brand are the 6GK5 tubes you are using?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: PV12A "ringing" ??
I've isolated the ringing to the right channel. Tapping on the chassis of the PV12A produces a louder ring, so might be a bad tube. I had an inexpensive DAC lose much of the right channel and quite possibly sent an unwanted signal to the preamp. I've ordered 3 new tubes and have one question: Is V1 ...

PV12A "ringing" ??
I'm getting an inconsistent ringing sound from the PV12A. It doesn't change amplitude and is not source related. It may be the balance control, as when I was rotating all controls the sound did get louder when I rotated the balance control. All tubes were replaced less than six months ago. Any thoug...

Re: PV-12 phono - MC?
I own the PV12A/Premier 11A combo and they are wonderful together. I'm using a Grado MM phono cart and have no complaints. Not sure if a traditional low output MC cart will work.

Re: CJ D/A-2B Tube DAC for sale - 650 euros
Is this still for sale? If so, can you tell me what the wattage consumption is (I would need to buy a step-up transformer). Also, as I am in the US, how would the dollar-to euro transaction work?
Thanks.
Thanks.

PV12A re-tube
I was way overdue for replacing the tubes in my PV12A which I bought new in 1998. Previously I've had a local upscale audio shop replace the tubes and check for any problems, of which there were none. This time, I thought I might replace the tubes myself. Knowing which model of tubes but not knowing...
